ABOUT

Throughout my life, I have consistently engaged in the creation of artworks. One of my earliest memories is sitting before a blank sheet of paper, contemplating ideas, and translating them onto the page through careful, concentrated effort. This process, though often challenging and solitary, became a fundamental aspect of my sense of self and the foundation on which I built my artistic identity. My motivation to continue with this process stemmed from the recognition and acknowledgement received when my work was noticed by others, a source of validation that was particularly meaningful during my formative years.

STATEMENT

As an adult, I recognise that my pursuit of art pays tribute to those early experiences and the persistent drive to accomplish a creative life. The desire for visibility and connection persists, as does my commitment to sharing my unique perspectives with the world. I have come to realise that the reason I am an artist is a basic human need to be seen, to be heard. Yet what my art is about is why I need to be seen, to be heard. This is a conversation that is universal and a place where we can begin to have this debate.

The result is work that feels both intimate and unsettling. These images are about identity, not as a fixed thing, but as something in constant negotiation. A version of yourself that does not quite fit the frame. I see my work as the philosopher and biologist Andreas Weber writes, ‘A challenge to turn contradictions into a narrative that produces meaning’.

Each work is produced as a limited edition giclée print, signed and numbered by the artist.
